McLean, Ogborn, Tsabary

At the Network Music Festival, the trio of McLean, Ogborn and Tsabary will perform shared buffer live coding, in the Tidal pattern language, from diverse geographic locations.  McLean will be “on the ground” in the UK, while Ogborn and Tsabary will perform from Montréal and Hamilton respectively, using extramuros: https://github.com/d0kt0r0/extramuros

Alex McLean

Alex McLean has performed widely, including as one third of the live coding band Slub with Dave Griffiths and Ade Ward, with Yee-King as Canute, and with choreographer Kate Sicchio. He is co-founder of TOPLAP, the Algorave collective, and the Chordpunch algorithmic record label. Alex is a Research Fellow at the University of Leeds, researching live coding, craft and social computing.  He is the creator of the Tidal pattern language. http://yaxu.org/

David Ogborn

David Ogborn (d0kt0r0) is a sound artist, programmer, composer and performer.  At McMaster University, Ogborn directs the Cybernetic Orchestra and teaches in the undergraduate Multimedia program and the graduate Communication and New Media program.  He is the creator of the EspGrid synchronization software, and more recently, the instigator of the extramuros project for “language-neutral” shared buffer live coding on the Internet. http://d0kt0r0.net

Eldad Tsabary

Eldad Tsabary is a professor of electroacoustic music at Concordia University (Montreal), founder and director of the Concordia Laptop Orchestra, and president of the Canadian Electroacoustic Community (CEC). In 10 years at Concordia, he has also been the primary developer of a new aural training method designed for electroacoustics.
